About the Performance
2023 marks the 180th anniversary of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg’s birth and the 190th anniversary of Johannes Brahms’ birth.
Pianist Chen Moye has meticulously curated a recital program featuring solo piano works by Grieg, Brahms, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart—two composers deeply admired by Grieg, whose creative legacy profoundly influenced his own. The works of all three composers flourished within the cultural milieu of the late 19th-century Belle Époque ("Beautiful Era").
In this concert, Chen Moye will evoke the artistic ambiance of Paris’ Left Bank during the Belle Époque through their music, aiming to create a "successful concert" equally cherished by both performer and audience.
