About the Performance
"Wander not beneath the bough, dwell not in rain's lament, nor weep in shadowed hours... Lift thine eyes where skies unveil clarity beyond tempests' reign." This Shakespearean prophecy from The Tempest manifests through flutist JIN Ta and pianist SHEN Weisi's alchemical collaboration. The concert's first act conjures Beethoven, Schubert, and Liszt's most virtuosic piano storms - cyclonic études whirling with Sturm und Drang ferocity. Then, as JIN's flute emerges like a shaft of golden light piercing storm clouds, the program ascends into mythic realms where Baroque arabesques intertwine with modernist tonepoems. Here, musical lightning becomes Promethean fire, illuminating paths through Shakespeare's symbolic wilderness.
