When Love Sings – ZHAO Yue Recital

About the Performance

Have you ever heard the echo of love in the whisper of a summer night?

Deep in time, those indescribable and elusive affections always resurface quietly on a special evening. And Qixi—the Chinese Valentine’s Day—is precisely the festival of longing, for those who still love.

On this night, we invite you into a love letter written in song. Tenor Zhao Yue joins forces with European-based pianist Yin Bojie to present a soulful recital that transcends time, weaving together ancient and modern. Inspired by Eastern love poetry, their voices and melodies will reawaken the tenderness and fluttering heartbeats of memory.

Zhao Yue—the unforgettable voice from Super Vocal, winner of the Golden Bell Award for Music, and a rising star hailed as a pioneer of crossover bel canto—possesses a warm, jade-like tenor brimming with emotion. He glides effortlessly between classical and pop, folk and contemporary.

This concert is a special Shenzhen edition of Zhao Yue’s 2025 tour, carefully timed for the evening after Qixi—the last Saturday of August—extending the festival’s afterglow with music. Centered on the theme of love, the program spans over twenty classics, from art songs based on ancient poetry to reimagined folk melodies and timeless soundtracks that shaped a generation.

With his voice, Zhao Yue will reignite the magic of old words and new tunes.

Love may not always be within reach, but tonight’s melodies will bring you closer to its warmth. What night is tonight? It’s the night your heart hears its echo.
