About the Performance
Rising cello star Liu Jiaqi, winner of the Mahler International Cello Competition, will make his debut in Shenzhen with a captivating recital.
In this concert, the young virtuoso will join forces with pianist Liu Shihua to present two pinnacles of the cello repertoire: Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata and Brahms’ Cello Sonata in F Major. The program also features Davidov’s lyrical miniature By the Spring and Sarasate’s fiery showpiece Zigeunerweisen (Gypsy Airs).
"As a cellist, music has shaped my entire life—it is my constant companion and the language through which I express emotions," shares Liu Jiaqi. Together, the duo will deliver an extraordinary sensory journey with their nuanced artistry, illuminating timeless masterworks through fresh, heartfelt interpretations.
