About the Performance
Soprano ZHI Hui, Mezzo-soprano BI Baoyi, and Tenor MA Teng will join pianist Kaori Kitamura in presenting China's first-ever dedicated art song memorial concert. This groundbreaking event celebrates the legacy of composer DING Shande (1911-1995), who pioneered the art song genre by ingeniously blending German Lieder traditions with Chinese poetic sensibility, creating what critics hailed as "the Mandarin art song revolution."
