He is a pianist who made a phoenix-like resurgence from paralysis. He studied under the legendary pianist Eleanor Sokoloff.
He is the only Chinese piano faculty member at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music.
He is also a Piano Professor at New England Conservatory.
His protégés include Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Haochen Zhang, Tianxu An, among others.
An acclaimed performer, he frequently collaborates with top-tier orchestras and conductors across the United States.
One of conductor Long Yu’s most cherished collaborators.
He is pianist Meng-Chieh Liu.
- At 16, he won First Prize at the Mieczysław Munz Piano Competition and Stravinsky International Competition (Age Division).
- In 2002, he received the Avery Fisher Career Grant and Philadelphia Musical Fund Society Career Achievement Award.
- A Steinway Artist, his performances have been hailed by Chicago Classical Review as “flawless, profound, and exquisitely balanced pianism.”
